Re: WG1608 Setup help

The latest version fw for the EM160R-GL is version A04. (EM160RGLAUR02A04M4G)

Though I do not yet have a copy, I only have A03 on file. The newest modems received already have A04 on them.

Actually I just got a few from my supplier in China with A05 firmware on them, but I do not have it in ...

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

Ok thank you. I guess I'll just keep waiting for new firmware to come out. Also thanks for the indepth info.

There is one more possibility: do you have a good power supply?

If you are using the OEM 2amp one, then you need to upgrade to 2.5amp (12v = 30 watt) instead, because that specific ...

Re: Bricked wg1608 help

I uploaded the latest factory firmware (24-June-2020) to the forum earlier today.

Try this, it's actually pretty simple: remove the power, press the "Reset" button and hold it for about 15-20 seconds and then reconnect the power WHILE STILL HOLDING RESET for about another 15-20 seconds. You should ...

Latest factory firmware for ZBT WG1608

Since we are still working on the 5Ghz wireless support for the new MT7633-based chipset, I am uploading the latest factory firmware for their WG1608 "True 5G" wifi Gigabit router.

It was last updated in late June, and is the currently shipping firmware in the routers direct from Shenzhen Zhibotong ...

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

I would flash the latest WG1608-GO2020-12-02.zip via the bootloader method (https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?p=6007#p6007) and do a full factory reset right after (System > Backup / Flash Firmware > PERFORM RESET),

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware

There's apparently a 12/02 goldenorb up now... Anyone done any analysis on the differences? Changelogs sure would be nice, but with all the routers they're supporting I suppose that would be far too much to ask.

Works perfectly for the WG3526 but still no 5Ghz radio for WG1608 - so, far. I have ...

Re: WG1608 with EM7565 & GoldenOrb WG1608-GO2020-06-10 = can't connect

There is a newer WG1608 version dated 23-Nov-2020 that runs like a scalded banchee on my WG3526.

I get speed increases of about 35-40% average both down and up and total max of 53gbit where 26 up and 6 down was my previous bests up & down speeds.

The WG3526 and WG1608 are very similar, mostly ...

Re: we1326 | ROOter updates | EP06

All the versions ending in "v5" are 16MB ROM/256MB RAM firmwares, which evidently has to do something with the modem recognition.

Bill, that being the case, shouldn't the latest version of GoldenOrb for the WE1326v5 work with the WG3526? Same basic parameters including 16M Flash/ROM and 256M RAM ...

Re: Flashing goldenorb firmware Reduced Speeds

The latest GO firmware for MediaTek including the ZBT WG3526 (mini PCIe based interface for modems) and their WG1608 (M.2 based slot instead) have greatly improved the speed of those routers. I just flashed the 23-November-2020 code (in the /upload folder) and got a boost of 50-60% in combined speed ...

Re: The Wireless Haven Vs GoldenORB - Firmware

What you're going to find is that Golden Orb ("GO") and therefore The Wireless Haven firmware based on it are much more user friendly firmware(s) that has many things self-configured and therefore you don't need a degree is rocket science to utilize it, and the opposite end of the spectrum is the ...

Re: ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb Firmware "23-Nov-2020"

What I found was that not only have all of my recent gotcha type issues went away, my average down went from 23gbit to 42gb and up went from 4-5gbit to 8gbit or better!

New increased speed is nearly 65% or better. I flashed it on my WG3536 and everything is slick as owl sheet...

I don't really ...

Re: New ZBT WG1608 5G-ready router + GoldenOrb firmware "23-Nov-2020"

Has anyone messed with the newly posted WG1608 "GO" dated 11/23/2020 hanging out in the /uploads folder? I have a new 1608 v2 router coming Tuesday, maybe tomorrow if the plane from Hong Kong gets here on time instead of 8-10 hours late like the past few days. I will install my Quectel EM12-G in the ...

I ask because I've just ordered a WG1608 ($87 incl. shipping) from ZBT.

I just did the same Friday and they offered to flash it with OpenWRT for me. I think that I paid $83 and change with shipping?
