Re: Can I bypass a cell tower using a directional outdoor antenna?
Possibly. You need the highest dBi antenna you can afford. The higher dBi means a tighter beam; basically. You want an antenna to be like a laser beam. You also should shield the antenna, if you can, in the direction of the other tower.
If you built your own router with a Quectel modem, you can ...

Re: Best Verizon MVNO and using one now
Sorry confused by the $90 for three lines. If you get into party pay three lines should be $75. Also you get a month for $5 if you refer someone. Transfer one line first. Then refer the other two and get the two months for $5 each. I did this it works.
This is my referral code = 3fZT3Q if you ...

Re: Best Verizon MVNO and using one now
Thank you Dr-BroadBand. I have also heard on the FaceBook group to also use Visibile. A few years ago I was paying $160 a month for Verizon!! It was crazy, but had no issues whatsoever...just not in my budget! :D Visible will be $90 for me with 3 lines so not a big difference on my part (paying $75 ...

Best Verizon MVNO and using one now
Hi all,
I have been traveling lately and carrying my modem/router with me. I am using US Mobile's Super LTE which is on Verizon with an EM12G and Linksys WRT1200AC (OpenWRT). One day, I accidentally unplugged the power cord, and somehow all the router settings got erased (my TTL, QoS, SSID, etc ...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
Well, I thought I'd just post an update. The modem arrived and my setup was so straightforward, its clear it really doesn't need a tutorial. I just followed @undertowzen and the post mentioned earlier in this thread. After setting QoS to cake and turning off IPv6 (I don't know if that's necessary ...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
That latest firmware update did nothing for me. Still the same dropped calls when ZOOMing. My colleagues joke that I have dial-up
I am now using my new Netgear router with Golden Orb. The connection seems the same so far. I turned off Wifi on the Mofi.
Still waiting on the modem and ...

Approved a post few days ago and got me to thinking, could this have anything to do with the disconnects?

I would like to kindly remind folks to buy from thewirelesshaven.com when possible. I know they do not have everything on ones list of goodies, but check them out before buying from others.
Without thewirelesshaven.com there would be no wirelessjoint.com
Just a friendly reminder...
That's a ...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
Great information @undertowzen and thank you again! I will leave with the knowledge and resources you provided and see if I can tackle first upgrading my antennas (up from 5mbps to 60mbps ?!?! That's better than what I was getting with my $180 Verizon plan this time last year!) and eventually going ...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
Thank you @undertowzen for your time and collection of resources! Despite the change I made the other day, the connection is still being dropped on the Mofi. It appears mainly during heavy usage (like video conferencing and long "searching sessions" on Google. I see the affordability and relative ...

Re: [SOLVED!] Losing constant Internet connection on Mofi 4500 (and my mind)
Hey so just reporting back.
First off found out a few things regarding the MTU I reported on earlier, the Sierra modems lock down the MTU of the hardware to 1430 so you will in fact have issues if you specify an MTU over 1430 - meaning you should populate 1430 all the way down the line from your ...
