Re: Looking for a Phone with a Good Hotspot
In case anyone cared, I landed on the Motorola 5g ACE. It had all the 5g bands except mmWave bands and every LTE band. Got open boxed item for under 150. It has excellent reception as well (much better than our iPhones). Still rocking the T-Mobile International unlimited hotspot plan from 2017ish.

Looking for a Phone with a Good Hotspot
So I've begun searching for another Android phone to replace my old Moto g4 we use for a traveling / backup hotspot / spare phone. Thought I'd see here if anyone had any recommendations. The Motorola seems to have worked well but Wifi range could be a little better. We were going to use an older ...

Re: super slow mofi4500-4gxelte v2 visible network
I just had this issue today with my MOFI that I'm repurposing as a backup and travel wifi hotspot. It's been set on bridge / ip passthrough for years. I tried to set it up for wifi and it wouldn't connect. Pissed with it for a while and reset all the wifi parameters. I then could connect but it was ...

Long story but I called up to start a T-Mobile Business Internet account. They didn't bother asking me about the actual service address as they were focused on my other address issues registering as a business account (rural life). They are shipping a trash can overnight! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So has anyone run into any issues by using their official T-Mobile Home Internet in another place than where you are supposed to? I'm thinking about using a nearby address so I can obtain it but, it does violate their TOS.

Whenever I swap sims with the same provider it takes a few reboots for the number to register. I already have synology system and don't want to double nat.... causes issues with my VPNs.
How does 5g cause an issue with VPN?
I'm using Tmobile LTE right now but i'm typically behind a carrier grade nat. Not sure why they haven't just embraced IPv6. Is that the issue?

Is there a difference in the quality of service you get between official T-Mobile Home Internet and a typical T-Mobile sim + BYOD? Re: MC7455 and Visible by Verizon, Grammie help!
Much like other carriers in the US, Verizon uses the TTL method for detecting tethered traffic, so the easiest way is to change it in the router running either GoldenOrb or WiFix firmware. Unfortunately I haven't seen a way to change TTL in a NightHawk M1 router yet. If using an external modem in a ...

So it's looking like changing TTL on my Mac or PCs does nothing to reclassify "hotspot data" on both iPhone and Android (moto g4).
