I have acquired a new modem and set it to use generic firmware and I get the following error: "Selected Carrier(Generic)/ SIM(Verizon) - mismatch"
I'm using APN vzwinternet
Not sure how to get this generic firmware to work with a Verizon SIM

Re: Verizon carrier reject on CBA850 with MC400LP6(anyone else have this working?)
OK I tried flashing without a sim. I opened another window to enter CLI commands and monitored the log. When I would see the "waiting for modem to unplug" message I would issue the command set /control/gpio/POWER_EN_MDM1 0" and the flashing would continue.

Re: Verizon carrier reject on CBA850 with MC400LP6(anyone else have this working?)
The response is !READY
The reason I wasn't able to see the other three slots must have been browser based. I switched to a different machine and different browser and can now see the list. I inserted the SIM and tried to upgrade the generic FW. Here are the messages from the log so far.

It looks like it's still getting stuck on the Setting Mode(File 1 of 2) message.
and in the system log I see this a lot

Oh yeah, the sim was definitely in it. Should I have pulled it before resetting to OEM?

Re: Verizon carrier reject on CBA850 with MC400LP6(anyone else have this working?)
OK I deleted the carrier preferences and the only difference now is that the 4 slots I could see in the firmware list is now only Verizon. For some reason that didn't delete. But that's somewhat a good thing because without the slots available on that page there is no way to load new firmware.

I have done neither of those things.
How do you clear the carrier preferences?

Here are various screen shots from the last attempt. I don't know what to do at this point. I can't get the firmware loaded.

That was very helpful, Yipzy. Thank you.

Re: Verizon carrier reject on CBA850 with MC400LP6(anyone else have this working?)
Thanks. Unfortunately, I did all of that before I read your post. How do I delete the firmware?
Also where do I look up the AT commands for my modem?
Sorry about the basic questions, I'm a data guy and only do comms as needed.

CBA850 with MC400LP6 or MC400LPE-VZ ?
I have a CBA850 and need to choose a modem for it. I will be using this in pass-through mode to a unifi USG and it will be used in an RV all over the country.
Which modem should I choose?
Any other recommendations or comments are welcome.
Oh and this is for Verizon service.

Re: Verizon carrier reject on CBA850 with MC400LP6(anyone else have this working?)
Unfortunately I am now unable to upgrade the firmware on my modem. I upgraded to the latest release of the firmware. When that didn't work, I attempted to reset to the OEM version. When that came back up the OS complained about the firmware and OS version being mismatched and now I can't update the ...

Re: Bridge or pass-through mode on WiFiX-WE826GO
Won't the VPN tunnel bypass both the NAT on the goldenorb router and the CG-NAT of the provider? At that point it doesn't matter that your AP is behind 3 layers of private IPs as the tunnel should have a public IP that punches through all that..
But then it becomes a major pain to try to set up ...

Bridge or pass-through mode on WiFiX-WE826GO
I want to add a Unifi USG and AP to my WiFiX-WE826GO running GoldenOrb_2020-05-16 so I can have a dedicated VPN connection to my home network.
The problem I'm having is figuring out how to put this device in bridge mode, AKA pass through mode.
Do any of you know how to do this? I've been searching ...

Re: DMZ - Alternative to Bridging a Router
Openwrt actually bridges interfaces just fine, it's the rooter scripts that stops the bridge from working. Rooter is just not set up for this feature. If you want a true bridge just dont use rooter. Install your drivers and packages you need to run the modem then just bridge the lan and wan and it ...
