Re: T-MOBILE and ping

What are you pinging? Did your IP address change? Did you associate with a different tower? Did you traceroute to the the server you're pinging? Did the route change? ;-) ;-)

The service is truly unlimited. It's something Sprint had to set-up for non-profits when they acquired some spectrum, if I remember correctly. Sounds like you need to pester support...

Re: 5 year RV nomad looking for better mobile solutions.

You may want to look at the Calyx Institute Hotspot option. They're a non-profit focused on internet privacy (I run their CalyxOS on my phone) and they have membership plans that include a hotspot with truly unlimited data, the "catch" being that it's on sprint. So it's not going to replace your ...

Re: Denial of service because modem is not VOIP enabled

Devices send their IMEI when registering to the network. On some you can "repair" the IMEI, on others you can't.
The thing I wanted to mention to you is that Verizon is very picky (to use a polite word) about the devices. I believe it depends on the MVNO, but for most you have to have a "phone" to ...

Re: EM12: working with Verizon bands

Have you tried AT+QCFG="band" ? See page 36 of the AT commands manual you linked to. That works great for my EP06 to exclude band 2, which it likes but has lots of congestion.

Re: T-Mobile Home Internet has hidden MHF4 connectors for external antennas?

It's kind'a hard to see where the traces are going on the photos. One of the test points doesn't seem to correspond to either main antenna.

For each antenna one of the spring contacts should be ground and the other signal. The ground one should be connected to a large ground plane. The other to a ...

Re: Anyone know if phones still have external antenna ports?

I do believe they have test ports. The trick is that some have very tight specs on what or how often you can insert without breaking some fine spring inside. So I'd research the connector carefully... At some point a careful solder job may be better long term.
Something to consider is that I'd ...

Re: EP06-A on Visible Wireless

I don't have an answer for you. Some suggestions:
- pop the SIM back into the iphone and make sure it's still working, maybe you can verify some settings in the iphone, such as APN?
- I find `gl_modem -B 1-1.2 cells` on the gl-inet handy, it shows the primary cell and secondaries, you can get that ...

Re: Need recommendations on a complete 4G LTE system set up for internet access at my new house in the sticks!

Dumb question: shouldn't the first question be what cell plan is targeted? That might severely limit which modems are going to be accepted on the network, no?

Before you spend a ton of time on this puppy, you know that you will need to fix the IMEI on this modem for verizon to let/keep you on the network, right? If you don't want to go through the fix process you're better off getting a different modem...

Re: PagePlus + Mofi - What am i missing?

As far as I can tell, Verizon is kicking devices with unapproved IMEI's off the network. I have a GL-X750 with an EP06-A as well. Have been using it on Verizon with a US-Mobile SIM for over a year just fine. Then I got a message from US-Mobile that I'm using an unapproved device and Verizon would ...

Any cheap options for backup internet service?

I have a DSL, which is fine, unless the power goes out 'cause the head-end dies seconds after the power... So I've been running LTE as a backup link on Verizon, using US-mobile pre-paid refilling a 1GB SIM (now 1.5GB) monthly for under $15. Due to power pole replacements we've had around 16 day-long ...

Re: Verizon and Quectel EP06

@LoveMeSomeCALTE: you asked for some data points...
I have two routers with EP06-A modems in SoCal that have been running on Verizon via an MVNO for about a year and a half but are about to get cut off. The modems are direct from China (Gl.Inet) and are not whitelisted in Verizon's DB.
Up to now, I ...
