I tried a WE1026-5G which uses the same 2.4Ghz chip as the WE826 and found the wifi signal was somewhat weaker than my Asus RT-AC68U using factory firmware. However, the download speeds I got from both were about the same.
I also looked at a Xiaomi Mini which uses the same MT7620 chip and the ...

What is the date on the firmware you are using?
If I know that I can see which build was used and see if there is something wrong with the Wifi driver.
There have been reports of poor wifi using this chip set but I need to test and see what is happening myself using similar hardware.

With luck this may have the fixes to cure the DHCP problems.

I have created an image for this using the very latest OpenWrt release, 18.06, and hopefully they have sorted out any issues.

Re: No WiFi on WE1326 running GoldenOrb for WG3526
You need to set the channel on the 5Ghz Wifi to make it associate.
Also, if you change the Country back to 'World' you will have access to channels below 52.
Channels above 52 have a 1 minute wait to check for radar before they are applied so you have to wait after changing the channel before it ...

WE | WG Recovery Mode Chinese Language
Those of you that have to use the Recovery Mode on a WE | WG router will have the pleasure of looking at a Chinese language screen. While it isn't hard to figure out what should happen, it is nice to know exactly what is being said here.
I've translated the recovery page so you can see what is what ...

I'll build you one using and older snapshot version from April that has been updated to the latest ROOter scripts.
There are issues with newer snapshot versions.

What firmware are you running?
Some snapshot builds seem to have a bug introduced that affects Wifi on ZBT routers.
