Re: Overheatng modems

Just a quick update - and thanks for the helpful responses.

I bought a simple heat sink from Amazon (as shown by others) and used the 3M tape to stick it simply to the EM7565 modem. I left the WE826 case with the lid opened and pointed a box fan I had at the open box. I have not had the temperature ...

Re: Overheatng modems

Thanks for this. I’ll take steps to see what helps. Your picture is interesting. How do you provide the DC power to the unit? I’m not sure how long of a cord can be run from the DC converter or whether it’s best to run an extension cord and to the box and plug the DC converter into the extension ...

Re: Overheatng modems

It seems when I do a lot of uploading especially that it can get to high seventies Celsius to around 90. I believe that’s when video conferencing starts to underperform.

It’s in a room that would not get above 80F.

Re: Overheatng modems

I believe I am having problems with overheating as well - particularly when videoconferencing with heavy uploading needs. Mounting the modem (Sierra EM7565 in a WE826) outside might help, but it would be a chore to get that up on a slippery roof surface. I am interested if people have had success ...

Re: WE826-T2 + Sierra Wireless EM7565 - Apple Devices Fine/Laptop Not Fine

Thanks, BillA!

I tried the various steps, and although they did not seem to solve the problem it did lead to me trying something else I read about - TTL settings... I changed mine after a few options to "64" and that seems to allow all devices to work fine - Apple products and my laptop - all three ...

WE826-T2 + Sierra Wireless EM7565 - Apple Devices Fine/Laptop Not Fine

I have a puzzler for the board:

Facts:

WE826-T2 with WiFix Nov/2019 and Sierra Wireless EM7565
QMI set and Verizon
Download speed is reasonably good 15-55 depending on time of day
Upload speed is poor 2-4 depending on time of day
Internet speed seems to work great on Apple devices and when I am ...

Re: WG3526 EM7565 Modem Present Not Connected

Does the WiFIX version include the "rndis package"? My SIM provider is asking - thinks it should be standard.

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area

I have been told that boosters will not work in the case of an external mimo antenna setup. You might only get one band. I am not an expert, just reporting what WirEng told me.

Re: WG3526 EM7565 Modem Present Not Connected

Golden-Orb 2017-12-15

The provider of the SIM card prefers this version over more recent versions which he says have some issues.

Re: WG3526 EM7565 Modem Present Not Connected

I am trying to upgrade the modem card in my WE826-T2 from a 7455 to a 7565. I am having the same problems as above and would like to issue the AT!USBCOMP=1,3,10D command, but the AT command line entry disappears when I start typing. The 7565 card shows up in the debug screens. I downloaded putty but ...
