I have fixed the issue now it would seem. i swapped in my em160r-gl which is LTE only and everything works great now. It would seem that something T-Mobile is doing on the backend for their 5G network is messing with stuff.

Those commands did it, after I reflashed the firmware. It is now connected to V*sb1e, shows the right SIM and Modem also. Can't get on the Internet yet, but still working on it. Thanks to those MMIB AT commands Didneywhorl gave me and the proper firmware, these steps did it I believe.

I would do a factory reset the put back just the apn and ttl settings, nothng else. That should get you back to working, At that point we can try and tackle the vpn again if you choose.

Well satellite will ALWAYS have very bad latency its just part of how satellite works. As far as your setup I think we are at the point of the old adage "If it aint broke dont fix it" :) Congrats you are now to the point you shoudnt have to worry about these things anymore and just use it.
