I had one disconnect Saturday night that required resetting the modem (MC7411). I am band locked to 66/71 and the weekend tourist traffic was really high so the tower was heavily loaded. Connect through a T-Mobile tower about 2 miles away. So still working for now on the West coast.

I installed newer firmware in the router today.
openwrt-we826-T-GO2021-05-31 downloaded from the aturnofthenut Rooter repository.
On reboot from the install I have had both IPV4 and IPV6 connections!

So, here it is. The sim card I got was voice,text only. I'm getting a new card that is on a data plan. $20 for 5 gigs a month. I could have just made the Sim I got a data plan, but kept it voice to work in old phone. It might take a week to get here, and I'll continue the adventure then.

Yes it was in MBIM Mode. I was able to get it online finally by adding the APN (VSBLINTERNET) to both settings, the connection profile and to the modem interface. Not sure if i was supposed to do that from the beginning but that worked. Also the TTL for Visible was 64 not 65, so I'm up and running ...

Update: After hours of troubleshooting, investigating, speaking to dozens of AT&T Reps. Advanced Tech Support, etc. the MoFi 5500 EM7690 does indeed register on AT&T's network as a Mobile Device (Phone), not a Data Only Device. If you use any kind of Data Plan it will not work.
