Re: Lm960 new build
Sierra modems use a Qualcomm chipset. The L860 uses an Intel chipset, and many things "under the hood" are very different.
Oops, my mistake. I've been working on my Fibocom L860 too long. The LM960 is a Telit modem, so the commands I gave before this edit won't work.

Great work. Another option if you don't want to be dependent on external DNS to keep the firmware from being updated is to add an entry for devcom.up.netgear.com to /etc/hosts. I confirmed that gives me back a "Service unreachable" when I attempt to update.

Re: Mofi as a signal booster itself
Looks like the TM modem is a Cat-12 .... Humm not bad.
Maybe a PoE setup would help. Put the modem outside on a pole in an enclosure

Re: Help with TMobile Setup
Just wanted to say thanks! I had a similar issue and I updated the firmware that was released on 11/20 and still didn't work until I did a hard reset and now I'm back up and running. I'm getting about 100 down and 20 up. I live in nyc and this setup will eventually live on my roof which has clear ...

Re: TTL, APN, for ATT? *need a reliable solution.
I just use the postpaid unlimited elite consumer plan. Since I already had that for my actual phones, adding a line only runs me ~$35/mo. Nxtgenphone or broadband for the APN. Ttl changes aren't necessary for AT&T, but 116 is what my phone reports when doing a ping directly from a terminal interface ...

Re: Wi-Fi for boat
Your quest needs more details to get help
Is this a permanent install?
How much data do you want?
Is ATT the strongest signal in every port?
You may want a setup that can handle two SIMs.

Re: Using a drone for optimum antenna placement
The drone I'm getting (Holy Stone HS720E) has altimeter readings on the controller display, so in my use case described above, I wouldn't need a tape measure. If I were to try to find an optimal spot over a large area such as yours, I'd get a bunch of marker flags, and number them 1 to whatever many ...

Captain,
Here is a bit more to chew on...

Sierra EM9190 stuck in PCIE mode
Ok, so I got this EM9190 modem from aliexpress only to discover it defaults to PCIe mode and in order to have it switch to USB3 mode, a specific pin on the M.2 connector needs to be tied to a 1.8 volt signal.
What options do I have to make this modem visible by either ROOter or my windows machine ...

Re: T-Mobile Home Internet has hidden MHF4 connectors for external antennas?
The latest update says the special antenna pigtails from IPEX will take 6-8 weeks to be made and shipped. Mid to late January is what is being quoted.
This is a brand new product line and is going to take much longer than other items to get manufactured and procured.
And I'm OK with that. As ...
