If you don't know, maps use true north, and your compass uses magnetic.
They are off generally about 12-13 degrees for most of us.
Useful if you are trying to aim an antenna.

Can you please explain what you are trying to do?
My father wanted wifi in his barn. Used a mesh system and put the satellite in the barn window and that worked fine for example.
