Im not following your question on tbe we826. The router can use a phones SIM to get onto the data network, but it is incapable of voice usage directly.

The problem is the Chinese manufacturers are choosing chips not supported by openWRT. If there is no official image for openWRT, Rooter generally wont spend time on making an image.
