The command to lookup is AT+QNWLOCK, this is specific to Quectel modems, and the details on parameters are important. You have to use other commands, like AT+QENG="servingcell" and AT+QENG="neighborcell" to gather the info needed to enter into the AT+QNWLOCK command. The AT Command manuals are ...

The em series modems are m.2 key B form factor, and most routers will take them via a mpcie to m.2 key b adapter.

You'll want to use M and D/G, though the em20 is meant for 4 antennas, it should work. There is no command to see each antennas signal strength. The command does exist (AT+QRSRP I think) but the EM20G does not support it, and Quectel has placed the device in development limbo for now. The Quectel ...

It is a cat16 modem.
Dunno. Maybe? Its a great modem, I'm guessing they set its price point low and still didnt have mass commercial orders. The EM160 isnt much cheaper.

I have had the sprint tower near me go down for 4-5days. For the first couple days they couldn't get the key to the gate that let them onto private property and then it took a few days to fix the problem. Anyway when I loose reception like that I just call my provider and see they have any issues ...

I agree that running through a VPN sucks and is a last resort for most, however, I was only suggesting to try using a VPN to rule out if the carrier is blocking ports. I have a feeling this happens a lot and most don't realize it. Depending on which test, the diagnostics only shows a partial picture ...
