Great work. Another option if you don't want to be dependent on external DNS to keep the firmware from being updated is to add an entry for devcom.up.netgear.com to /etc/hosts. I confirmed that gives me back a "Service unreachable" when I attempt to update.

I just installed Voxel and it is working great except for dnscrypt, which only works over wifi after the LBR is fully booted and I restart the dnscrypt service. It seems dnscrypt may be starting too early in the boot process (before all of the interfaces are up).

Noticed that when you changed the LAN interface IP in LuCi you waited the full 90 seconds for it to timeout and then apply unchecked. Instead of doing this, the drop-down box next to the Save and Apply button has an Apply Unchecked button

If any one is interested, I recorded myself going through the 4 antenna mod. Now Ironically I stepped back a little because the cheapo antennas were not better than what came from the factory (shocking, I know). But I think it would be well paired with some quality antennas.

I am trying to follow the post below to set up a cron job to reboot the router twice a week.
An alternative to using the cron might be to call a script from /mnt/circle/overlay/etc/rc.local
that does something like sleep for 3 days, then reboot.

Today I found a command to display information about primary and secondary serving cells. I think this gives current information about carrier aggregation.

Just a heads up that after upgrading to newest Quectel firmware and disabling NSA (forcing SA) I'm getting 360+Mbps down, so doing better than my other WG1608/Quectel RM500Q-AE based routers at the moment. Thanks again to hazarjast for the compilation of info.

FYI, some Ebay seller has 700+ of these brand-new for $190 on eBay right now. I just received mine today and it's brand new, shipped in a brown Netgear logo box with logo tape that's never been open. I suspect these are covid work from over overstock, and now they're at a great price!

FYI, the flash has plenty of space so I upgraded modem firmware by sending the most recent file from Quectel over to /tmp via SCP and running QFirehose -f /tmp/firmwaredirectoryname

IG gateway has been using 8.8.8.8 as monitoring IP. I have tried other DNS (like, 1.1.1.1 & 9.9.9.9) & disabled montoring also, but I honestly can't remember if that was before or after making the other changes you suggested. I just disabled monitoring & we'll see what happens.... crossing fingers.

Over on the netgate forums, they are thinking it may be a sporadic hardware failure in my router. Yesterday I left it running memtest for several hours, no errors. If it fails again ...
